In 1994, Voss Vineyards was conceived and founded by Australian, Robert Hill Smith, the fifth-generation proprietor of Yalumba Winery in Barossa Valley, as well as the proprietor of Nautilus Estate in Marlborough, New Zealand. Intrigued by the quality and regional nuance of the Napa Valley, Hill Smith applied his Australian & New Zealand expertise to craft small production wines locally under the Voss Vineyards label.
